Winter Party with Paints and Poems

Join local Teaching Artists Tracy Rittmueller, Kelly Meyer, Antionette Lee, and 9 local poetry ambassadors from diverse cultures and backgrounds to celebrate the one thing we all share in common—Minnesota Winter! Registration required to receive free paints, canvases and painting guidance. Create a work of art while listening to a multi-cultural selection of poems and songs. No experience is needed to paint, to participate in making a collaborative communal poem, or to access the open mic. Buddy King will provide drumming and Jim Read will type spontaneous poems on themes chosen by attendees. Sensory friendly spaces will offer hospitality to people who experience overwhelm. The Yes Network is providing kids’ snacks and drinks, and Lyricality is offering teas from 4 continents.
Free and open to adults and families with children 8+
