Christmas in the Fort

Once again, we will be ringing in the Alexandria Holiday Season with Christmas in the Fort & Light Up Broadway! Join us on North Broadway Street for this free community event on Friday, November 25. The event will begin with the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus about 3:00 PM to Fort Alexandria. Children will be able to see Santa & Mrs. Claus and write him/them a letter in our large Ship Building. Cider, cookies & coffee will be served in Fort Alexandria and there will be a book give away for students in the Schoolhouse as well as live reindeer and photography backdrops. The Zion Children’s Choir will sing on the Stagecoach Stop porch about 3:45 PM with the Carolers following at about 4:30 PM. There will be free popcorn and water at Counselor Realty and a seasonal beverage will be available for purchase at Copper Trail. Christmas music will be provided by Cool 94.3. Light Up Broadway will be at 5:15 PM with a Countdown by Chelsea Lee in front of the museum. The festivities continue next door at the Legacy of the Lakes Museum with Parade of Trees. There will be hot cocoa and ‘smores in the gardens as well. Light Up Alexandria will follow Light Up Broadway at 6:00 PM with a parade down Broadway Street.
