WinterFest in Spicer
Never underestimate the ingenuity of people who want to have fun year round. WinterFest in Spicer is proof of this as the residents of the area string together three weeks worth of fun on the ice.
The centerpiece of the event is the Ice Castle that is made from blocks cut from Green Lake. There is fun virtually every day with entertainment put on by organizations, restaurants and businesses. You’ll find anything from snowmobile races to a formal dance on the ice. There are fishing tournaments and a 5k run, a family fun day and a polar plunge. There is something that will appeal to nearly any interest.

If you go, know that many restaurants and stores may have bathrooms, but aside from this the other options are porta potties near the Ice Castle. It’ll be wise to plan your trip to stay warm and of course dress in layers.
